Woman hurt as vehicle collides with train

A Canadian Pacific train collided with a vehicle at the 20th South Street crossing Saturday, resulting in injuries to the driver.

NEW ULM — A train collided with a vehicle on 20th South Street late Saturday afternoon, resulting in injuries. The collision occurred at 4:13 p.m.

Cynthia Olsen, 48, of Bloomington, was driving a 2011 Grey Toyota Rav4 West on 20th South Street entering New Ulm. The vehicle failed to yield for the railroad crossing and was struck by a Canadian Pacific train.

The Rav4 sustained severe damage, but according to a New Ulm Police Department news release, Olsen injuries are suspected to be non-life threatening.
