Planning Commission OKs permit applications

NEW ULM — The Brown County Planning Commission unanimously approved a pair of conditional use permit applications Tuesday.

The first application, filed by John Schwartz of Schwartz Farms on property owned by Lindeman & Wells, Inc., Section 5, North Star Township, to amend an existing permit to allow 1,200 animal units (4,000 head) from the currently permitted 1,152 animal units (3,840 head), all in the A-1 Agricultural Protection Zoning District, was approved on a motion by Commissioner Dennis Potter, seconded by Commissioner Tony Berg.

An application filed by James Schindele on property owned by James W. & Beverly A. Schindele, Section 33, Eden Township, to continue allowing use of an existing gravel mine to include gravel screening and processing all in the A-1 Zone, was approved on a motion by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Commissioner Potter.

Preliminary plat applications were unanimously approved for:

• Jeff Juni on 43.53 acres owned by Jeffery D. & Ellen Juni, Juni Fifth Subdivision, Section 9, Milford Township, to add a strip of land on the west side for utility lines, motion by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Commissioner Potter.

• Wayne Shellum, 5.38 acres owned by Shellum Family Trust, Shellum Subdivision, Section 25, Albin Township, to split building site from tillable acres, all in the Agricultural Protection Zoning District, motion by Commissioner Potter, seconded by Commissioner Berg.

• John Bauer, 6.88 acres owned by John Bauer, Bauer Subdivision, Section 7, Linden Township, to split building site from tillable acres, all in the Agricultural Protection Zoning District, motion by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Commissioner John Rolloff.
