Hanska man faces five criminal sex charges
NEW ULM — A 37-year-old Hanska man faces five felony criminal sexual conduct charges in Brown County District Court involving an alleged victim he had a significant relationship with when the child was 4 to 6 years old.
Charges including three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person under age 13 and 16 and two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person under age 13 were filed Thursday against Christopher L. Konakowitz, 214 Broadway, Hanska. A bail hearing was set for 11:30 a.m. Friday.
According to court documents, a Brown County sheriff’s investigator met with an alleged victim regarding allegations of sexual abuse by Konakowitz that happened when the alleged victim was 4 to 6 years old. Konakowitz had a significant relationship to the victim.
The alleged victim explained incidents occurred in Hanska when Konakowitz lived in a little yellow house, where some of the alleged incidents occurred. The alleged victim said Konakowitz was about 20 years old at the time and recalled three incidents.
