Open House offers look at RENU designs

NEW ULM — The public is invited to an informal Open House, come-and-go style, at the New Ulm Recreation Center (Vogel Fieldhouse) 122 South Garden St. from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday Oct. 24 and from 5:30 to 9 a.m. on Friday Oct. 25.

The purpose of the Open House is to provide an opportunity for written public input related to the latest design concepts of the Recreation Center RENU projects: aquatic center, indoor playground, gymnastics center and fitness center. City staff and design consultant(s) will be on hand to answer questions and the latest design concepts will be posted for all to view.

The Reinvest New Ulm (RENU) projects are funded by other local 1/2% sales tax authorized by local voters on Nov. 8, 2016 and the State of Minnesota during the May 2017 legislative special session. Presently, the schedule is to finalize plans and bid the projects out this winter 2019-2020 and begin construction in the spring of 2020. Completion is expected in 2021.
