NEW ULM — The Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a deceased person in a cornfield off County Road 17, approximately 3 miles east of Comfrey, in Mulligan Township.

Family members located Adam Kroecker, 33, of Butterfield, deceased in his vehicle.

He was last seen leaving his place of employment on Tuesday, Sept. 11, and family had been searching for him since.

The cause of death is unknown at this time and remains under investigation. The Sheriff’s Office believes there is no risk to public safety, and foul play is not suspected.
