GAYLORD — Gaylord Ambulance Service Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Mark Brand recently received the Minnesota and National VFW Emergency Medical Technician Awards at the state VFW convention in St. Cloud in June.

The awards recognized him for 34 years of dedication and selfless service to the Gaylord Ambulance Service. Living 10 miles from Gaylord, Brandt carried a radio when on call. Most of the time, he meets the ambulance at the scene or before it arrives at the scene if the call is close to where he is.
