NEW ULM — The Junior Pioneers will hold it’s Annual Winter Social on Friday, February 22nd, at Green Mill Restaurant, New Ulm.

The evening will begin with a social hour at 5:15 p.m. and meal at 6 p.m., followed by the program. Reservations are due by Tuesday, Feb. 19. Tickets are $30 each. The program this year will be Tom Romaine presenting a history of the New Ulm Fire Department as it approaches its 150th birthday in 2020. He will describe it from its start with axes and buckets to today’s latest technology in fire fighting. The talk will include the progress of the fire department under different fire chiefs through the years, notable fire department incidents, an honor roll of Junior Pioneer families who have served in the fire department, and changes in the fire department throughout its history.
