NEW ULM — Winners of a billbord contest sponsored by the Brown County Underage Substance Abuse Coalition were announced Thursday at New Ulm Middle School and Jefferson Elementary.
Students across Brown County were asked to design potential billboards. All the designs submitted promoted an anti-drug message.
USAC Program Director Thea Klause Spillane said over 100 billboard designs were submitted across Brown County. Three winners were selected from New Ulm, Sleepy Eye and Springfield.
The New Ulm contest winners were: Kendal Conrad in first place; sixth-grader Megan Ubel in second place; and third-grader Taylea Metzger in third place.
Conrad’s poster design will be enlarged into a billboard and displayed in New Ulm.
