SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s wrapped up its regular season of baseball on Saturday with a 3-2 win over Lyle.

The Knights were led at the plate by Kessler Severson, who was 2 for 4 with an RBI, while Merrick Mathiowetz homered and Kameron Kosak added a double and an RBI.

Tyler Mathiowetz got the start on the mound for St. Mary’s and went five innings, allowing two hits and six walks for one earned run while striking out five. Severson pitched two innings in relief and got the win, allowing two walks while fanning three.

St. Mary’s (10-10) awaits Section 2A playoffs next, which begin Thursday.
