Notice of Public Hearing
on Proposed Property Tax Abatement and Business Subsidy
Notice is Hereby Given , that the City Council of the City of New Ulm, Brown County, Minnesota, will conduct a Public Hearing on Tuesday, January 6, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers located in the New Ulm City Hall, 100 North Broadway, New Ulm, Minnesota, relating to the use of property tax abatement and the approval of a Development Agreement for the purpose of funding development costs associated with the SLD Properties, LLC commercial building project, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 469.1812 to 469.1815, inclusive, as amended. The tax abatement request involves tax abatement assistance for soils corrections to allow for the construction of an approximately 6,500 sq. ft. multi-tenant commercial building. The creation or retention of jobs for this project has been determined not to be a goal.
The total amount of the tax abatement shall not exceed $256,958 and will be provided over a period of up to 13 years commencing in the year 2028. The following tax parcels are proposed to be included in the property tax abatement area:
