Minneapolis man dies in Highway 212 crash

RENVILLE COUNTY — A 58-year-old Minneapolis man died in a two-vehicle, head-on crash on Highway 212 in Preston Lake Township, Renville County reported at 11:16 a.m. Wednesday.

Bradley Alan Sharratt, 58, was driving a 2024 Hyundai Palisade SUV westbound on Highway 212 when he collided with an eastbound 2021 Peterbuilt semi truck/trailer driven by Gene Allen Anderson, 40, Wellsburg, IA. Sharatt died of injuries at the scene, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Anderson and a semi passenger, Anthony David Ball, Cedar Falls, IA, were transported to a Glencoe hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Anderson and Ball wore seat belts. It was not known if Sharratt wore a seat belt.

Assisting agencies were the Renville and McLeod County Sheriff’s Offices, Buffalo Lake Police/Fire/Ambulance, Hector Fire and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
