Court Proceedings

Brown County

District Court

• Jody R. Dummer, 60, 809 12th St. S., New Ulm, was charged with two counts of gross misdemeanor 2nd-degree DWI Tuesday. According to court documents, a Brown County Sheriff’s Investigator was northbound on Broadway in an unmarked squad car at 9:45 a.m. Oct. 8 when his attention was drawn to a vehicle traveling towards the center median, partially in the left turn lane.

The vehicle made a left turn in front of 1126 S. Broadway and the investigator turned to follow the vehicle and found it on a sidewalk at a 45-degree angle to the building, traveling in reverse. The vehicle moved westbound on 12th South, then drove away from the officer. The investigator yelled at the driver to stop and a female driver hit the brakes. Police ordered her to turn the car off but she put the vehicle in park and revved the engine. Police reached in the vehicle and turned it off, removed the keys and detected a strong alcoholic beverage odor. Police identified the driver as Dummer, who showed intoxication clues, failed certain field sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. A breath sample for analysis showed an alcohol concentration of .22 grams per 210 liters of breath. Her driving record sowed one qualified, prior impaired driving incident conviction on Feb. 11, 2013 and an implied consent license revocation in connection with the incident.

A bail hearing was set for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10.
