Collin Drive assessments draw challenges from Courtland residents

COURTLAND -- A Public Hearing was held before Thursday’s Courtland City Council meeting to discuss the assessments for the Collin Drive Improvement project. Mayor Al Poehler began the hearing explaining that properties affected by the project should have received a letter and the assessment roll for the project. MANKATO – Highway 4 from Brown County Road 24 south of Sleepy Eye to Highway 30 is expected to open to traffic by the end of the day on Friday, November 8, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Motorists should expect intermittent lane restrictions and watch for flaggers on Highway 4 between Brown County Road 24 and Watonwan County Road 6 until mid-November as finishing work continues. WINTHROP — Winthrop voters re-elected Mayor Julie Trebelhorn Tuesday, according to unofficial results. Trebelhorn got 358 votes to 319 for challenger Brent Roiger. There were 13 write-ins.
