Mobile MRI technology acquired at Madelia Health

New magnetic resonance imaging technology is now available to patients at the Madelia Health Radiology Department. Testing is offered through Shared Medical Services in a brand-new mobile coach on Mondays and Saturdays near the Emergency entrance at Madelia Health.

MRI is a medical imaging technique used in radiology to form pictures of the anatomy and the physiological processes of the body.

The new mobile MRI enhances patient experience in a number of ways. The wide bore eases patient fears and provides exceptional comfort, and the table can support patients who weigh up to 550 lbs.

With the new MRI, exam times are shortened without compromising image quality, and there is an overall decrease in the need for sedation. Breathe-free and motion-free applications eliminate the need for breath-holds and lying still during an exam, which decreases the patient’s stress level and claustrophobia.

MRI exams can be scheduled even if a provider is located at another facility.
