Popcorn Wagon Blast at Museum Saturday
NEW ULM — Celebrate the past at the Popcorn Wagon Blast from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept 28, at the Brown County Historical Society Museum, 2 N. Broadway, New Ulm. This event is free to the public and provides visitors opportunities to view Gag family art and learn about the Prohibition Era of Brown County.
Those who attend can enjoy live music, children’s activities, and popcorn. The entertainment features unique concertina players of the area, including Steve Rewitzer, Chad & Cameron Mack and Leon Olsen.
Steve Rewitzer gives concertina lessons to nine-year old Cameron Mack and his father Chad. Rewitzer has been giving Cameron lessons for a couple of years. Chad decided to learn to play the concertina along with his son.
Leon Olson has been playing concertina and entertaining audiences for over 50 years. He played his first job at age 11 and started his band shortly after. His band plays regularly throughout the United States.
