Scouts on the trail

Thirteen members of New Ulm Boy Scout Troop 25, sponsored by the Optimist Club, earned the cycling merit badge by riding 150 miles in New Ulm and 20 miles on the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail for four days. They camped at Ballentine Lake and enjoyed water activities, learning bike repair at Nicollet Bike Shop, a Waterville Fisheries tour and several stops at the Elysian ice cream store. Scouts earning the badge, left to right, are Augie Fliszar, Mitchell Schotzko, Nate Fliszar, Keenan Davis, Joey Kotten, adult trail leader Mike Pyan, Anton Pyan, Dylan Portner, Matt MIller, Brady Christiansen, Ian Schotzko, Jacob Vogel, Jaxon Holm and C.J. Surprenant. Other adutls on the trail were Gabrielle Pyan, Shari Kotten and Laura Schotzko. Trail support adults were Lee Portner, Tom Henderson and Dave Drill.
