Cigar Workshop coming in July

NEW ULM — David Harmening and Paul Warshauer are admitted cigar aficionados, so they decided to invite the public to join them in an event entitled, “Three Flights in the Garden of Ruin.” The location for the event is at the former Hauenstein Brewery Gardens, located at 1604 Hauenstein Court, New Ulm.

The event, rain or shine, is on July 13 from 4 to 7:15 p.m. Newcomers are welcome and veterans will enjoy the event as well. No experience necessary and all supplies will be provided. A notebook with information about the culture and art of fine cigars is provided and will be explored briefly after dinner.

Three flights of high quality cigars, two paired beers, and one Scotch pairing will be offered. A modest supper of quality brats, potato salad, and string beans Almondine will be served.

The schedule of events begins at 4 p.m. with a reception and Beer One; at 4:15 p.m., First cigar flight; at 5 p.m. Dinner and Beer 2; at 5:20 p.m. workshop and discussion; at 5:30 p.m.Second cigar flight; at 6:30 p.m., Scotch and Third cigar flight. 7:15 p.m. marks the unofficial ending of event.

Cost per person is $100 and tickets only available in advance. Limited seating.
