Youth Pottery offered Mondays; Nov. 5 and 12 from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Community Center. Register online or at the Rec Center.

Open Broomball begins Nov. 7 and will run Wednesdays from 7:15-8:45 p.m. at the Civic Center. Admission is $4.75 per person or punch cards are available for $42.75 for a 12-punch card. This is a non-checking league, open to men and women, ages 18 or older. Players may divide into teams for a fun, competitive workout and challenging game play. Helmets, broomball stick/broom and broomball shoes are required. Shin guards and gloves are recommended. Park and Rec has some equipment available on a first come-first serve basis.

Teen Event at the Rec Center Friday, Nov. 9 from 9-11 p.m. We will offer pool activities including water volleyball, basketball, polo, floaties, log rolling and music. We will also offer volleyball and shooting hoops in the gym. Admission is FREE, thanks to our 2018 Days of Play Sponsors.

How to make strong acting choices and be dynamic on stage Acting Workshop for tweens through adults who wish to gain confidence and sharpen their acting skills! No preparation necessary. Come and have fun! Workshop is Saturday, Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon at State Street Theater. Fee is $25 Residents or $27.50 Non-Residents.

Preparing for the Audition Acting Workshop for tweens through adults who wish to strengthen their audition skills. Have you ever wondered what it’s like to do a monologue audition? Maybe you’ve prepared one, but want to be better at it. Please memorize one minute of text from a play or bring it written on a piece of paper. Workshop is Saturday, Nov. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the State Street Theater. Fee is $25 Residents or $27.50 Non-Residents.

Both workshops are offered in partnership with Park and Rec and State Street Theater. Classes will be taught by Luverne Seifert, professor at the University of Minnesota College of Liberal Arts, who has performed on stage at the Guthrie, Arizona Rep, Ten Thousand Things and Gremlin Theaters.

Fitness Fun Day Sunday, Nov. 11 from 1-5 p.m. FREE use of the Rec Center for individuals and families to swim, play in the gym, shoot hoops, racquetball or walk the track! This event is sponsored by Park and Rec., New Ulm Medical Center and Physicians Group of New Ulm.

Tot Swim: Fridays, Nov. 16 and 30 from 9:30-11 a.m. This is an opportunity to Swim and play with your tot in the shallow part of the pool. Toys provided and tot slide will be open. Whirlpool is closed during this time. Admission is $2.50/tot.

Adult Basketball League: Get your buddies together for 5 on 5 un-officiated basketball league! League will play Sunday evenings beginning December 2 and run until late February/early March. Fee is just $150 per team. Registration forms are available at the Rec Center or online at newulmmn.gov. Please turn in by Nov. 23.

Open Pickleball at Rec Center Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1-2:30 p.m. and Monday evenings from 7:30-9:00 p.m. and Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30 p.m. Memberships, Punch cards, cards or Daily Admission apply. These hours will be in effect October 1-31, 2018.

Crews are spraying for broadleaf control in the parks. Please exercise caution in flagged areas.

Water in parks shut off for the season and restrooms are locked.

Minnecon Park is closed due to high water levels.

Hermann Monument is closed for the season. See you next year!
