Weight Lifting for Seniors Class is a 6-week, 60-minute program designed to approach strength training in a safe, effective and fun way to keep you strong for life. Strength training can ward off muscle loss, keep bones strong, promote mobility and function, prevent falls and combat depression! Class offered Mondays at 10 a.m. starting Feb 3. Register at the Rec Center or online at newulmmn.gov

Glow Day in the Park Sunday, February 9 from 4-7 p.m. at Harman Park! Free glow in the dark and snow activities, skating and bonfire. Bring your own skates or rent a par of ours for $2.25 S’mores and refreshments for sales. This program may be canceled from inclement weather.

Racquetball League (Age 18+) Monday evenings starting February 10. Register at the Rec Center’s Welcome Desk by January 31.

Child/Adult Fit & Fun is designed, and required, for one adult to participate with one child, ages 2 to 6 years old to have fun and be active together. Classes teach respect, team building skills and improve fitness levels through specialized activities. Classes meet Sundays; Feb 16, 23, March 1 and 8 from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at the Rec Center. Register online or at the Rec Center.

Itty Bitty (Age 4-6) and Explorer Camps (Age 7-11) offered Monday, February 17 (no school day) at the Rec Center. Register online or at the Rec Center.

Mini Science camps offered for youth ages 3 to 5 (with adult) and 6 to 9 (without adult) on February 18 at the Community Center. Register online or at the Rec Center.

PreK Open Gym Wednesdays and Fridays from 9-11 a.m. Run, chase and burn off energy! Play with balls, scooters, hula hoops, parachutes and more! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Open Pickleball at Rec Center Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 1-2:30 p.m. and Saturdays 10-11:30 a.m. Memberships, Punch cards, cards or Daily Admission apply.

Open Co-Rec Broomball at the Civic Center runs each Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. Regular admission, punch card or membership fees apply.

New Open Swim Hours Mondays 3:30-5, Tuesdays 6-8 p.m., Fridays 3:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5 p.m.

Tot Swim is held the first and third Fridays of the month. This is an opportunity to Swim and play with your tot in the shallow part of the pool. Toys are provided and tot slide will be open. Whirlpool is closed during this time. Admission is $2.75/tot.

Winter/Spring Activities Registration is available online at newulmmn.gov or at the Rec Center.

German Park Amphitheater is in great need of improvement! Over $1.2M is needed, $800,000 has already been raised. Fundraising for this project continues. You can help transform it into the area’s premier Outdoor Performing Arts venue. Any size of donation is accepted and greatly appreciated. Donor names will be inscribed in the amphitheater. This project is a perfect way to honor your loved one, friend, family, business or any of life’s celebrations. Donations should be made payable to City of New Ulm Amphitheater and mailed to the Park and Rec. Dept., 122 S. Garden Street, New Ulm. Riverside Environmental Learning Center located in Riverside Park is open Saturdays 1 to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 12 to 4 p.m. or by appointment (Please call Ron at 507-766-5770.)

Memorial/Gift Giving Ideas – purchase one or more paver stone(s) with your inscription(s), in the walkways near Hermann Monument and/or German Park for $200 each, contact the Park & Rec office at 359-8344. Park or trail benches range in price from $1,500 to $3,500 each, call 359-8344.
