Six Miles Of Road Will Bem

Graveled In Town Of Cottonwood.

Township elections were held in the various localities Tuesday. In many townships the number of votes cast surpassed any of the elections held in several years past. Funds were set aside for general township purposes as well as for graveling of roads.

At the time of going to press the following returns have reached this office.

Village of Courtland.

President: Herman Poehler; Trustee for 3 years: Wm. Schmidt; Assessor: R.W. Zimmermann; Treasurer: J. M. Rockvam; Recorder: H. H. Berg; Justices of Peace: Mis. Leona Bobsin and H. E. Stellmacher; Constable: Otto Brueske. There were 87 votes cast and it was the biggest election ever held in the village.

Township Of Courtland.

Supervisor: Fred Havemeier; Clerk:C. J. Schwartz; Treasurer: Henry J.Brown; Assessor: Nick Reinhart. $5000was levied for Town purposes.

Lafayette Township.

Supervisor: Andrew Portner; Treasurer: Robert Preisinger; Clerk: Alex E. Reinhart; Justice of the Peace:David Jungquist. J. W. Berger was appointed assessor but has not yet accepted because he was not at the election. Thirty-nine votes were cast.

Cottonwood Township

Supervisor for 3 years: Hubert Rein-hart; Clerk: Ben I. Dahl; Assessor: Albert Schnobrich; Justice of Peace:Wm. Waibel; Constable: Carl Schwerinfurther. $5000 was voted for bridge fund; $500 for general purposes. They also voted to gravel six miles of road.Ninety-six votes were cast.

Sigel Township.

Supervisor: Tom Stadick; Clerk: Jos. G. Tauer; Treasure: John T. Stadick; Assessor: Joe A. Domeier;Justice of Peace: Edward W. Floi; Constable: Barney Hillesheim. Forty-five votes were cast.

Milford Township.

Supervisor: Robert Runck; Cleo: W. C. Heimann; Assessor: Herman Albrecht; Constable: Robert Lambrecht Secretary: Fred Rolloff; Justices of Peace: Andrew Wagner and Art Meck-lenburg. Eighty-two votes were cast.

West Newton Township.

Supervisor 3 years, John Steffle; 2 years, Jos. A. Vetter; Treasurer:Martin Dummer; Assessor: Albert Schlumpberger; Clerk: August Strate;Constable: Anton Steffen; Justice of Peace: John Albers; Overseers: District 1, Ben Kokesch;. District 2, Casper Dummer; District 3, Barney J. Vetter;District 4, Louis A. Inhofer. $6000was raised for general Township pur-poses. A by-law was passed that non-residents are not allowed to hunt in West Newton Township.

North Star Township.

Supervisor: Peter J. Isakson; Clerk:F. W. Dorrow; Treasurer: Philip Runck Assessor: Ernest Schwartz; Justice of Peace: John J. Ryan; Constable: Wal-ter Wagner. One-hundred-sixty-nine votes were cast and a resident of that township for fifty-two years says that it was the largest election ever held.
