Wildlife area open to public

LARRY NELSON, area game manager, posts signs showing one corner of land bought by the state for the Rosenau-Lambrecht Wildlife Management Area; marsh-lake and Highway 14 are in background. Arrow on map below points to where photo was taken. Heavy black lines on map outline Milford Township land in the wildlife area, located west of Somsen Management area. There are 79 acres in outlined area north of Highway 14, 29acres south of highway. Dotted lines within the area north of highway and the two parcels south of highway show the marshes. The wildlife areas are open to the public for hunting in season, hiking and wildlife observation. Land already acquired by the state is about one-quarter of total planned, with further purchases waiting until money is available. The project was started over two years ago when the Brown County board gave permission to the state to buy the land, as required by law.
