‘Musical Horizon’ to appear on TV

“A Musical Horizon” will be presented Tuesday by four groups of New Ulm Senior High School musicians. Music will be from the 1940s and 1950s.

The program will be presented as the first live musical show on the school channel 8 at 9:45 a.m. when the program is presented for the students. The show also can be viewed in a rebroadcast on Channel 8 at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Groups will include the following:

Jazz rock group-This group was formed this year by Mrs. Thais Patton who is also the director. Membership is about 25 students and it specializes in contemporary music with a jazz-rock style.

Stage band-This group will play modern music with a “big band” sound under the direction of Curtis Iverson. There are 21 members.

The Menagerie-With its 30 members and Bob Wirtz, this group will do several numbers in its own style.

Kid Jet and the Vapor Waves-These five young men will bring back sounds of the 1950s.
