A 2012 Chevrolet Traverse owned by Heather Dawn Bregel, 50, New Ulm, was legally parked, unoccupied facing east when it was struck by an unknown vehicle. New Ulm Police • Responded to a two-vehicle crash at 12:11 p.m. Friday at 20th South and Broadway. A 2020 Hyundai Tucson driven by Katherine Lynn Botten, Hanska, was exiting the Hy-Vee parking lot, facing east at a stop sign. A 1990 Peterbilt semi driven by Robert Lee Hamsmith, 51, Ringsted, Iowa was southbound on Broadway with the right of way. Botten pulled out in front of the truck and tried to turn left, going southbound when the vehicles collided. Damage was severe/disabling to the Hyundai and moderate to the semi. A possible minor injury was reported. Both drivers wore seat belts.
