New Ulm Police • Responded to a hit-and-run crash without injuries at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sixth North and Minnesota Street. A 2012 Chevrolet Traverse owned by Heather Dawn Bregel, 50, New Ulm, was legally parked, unoccupied facing east when it was struck by an unknown vehicle. Bregel said she heard a loud noise and saw a truck nearby.

New Ulm Police • Spoke with a 36-year-old New Ulm woman at 3:34 p.m. Friday who said she received threatening text messages on her cell phone.  Messages included a threat to kill the women but did not ask for any financial information to personal information.  Report for documentation.  • Took a report at 3:36 p.m. Friday from a 52-year-old New Ulm women who said she fell victim to a scam.  The scammer stated they were from Xfinity who stated they could reduce her monthly bill if she provided gift cards for Target.  The women purchased four gift cards, totaling $600. She ...

New Ulm Police • Responded to a two-vehicle crash at 12:11 p.m. Friday at 20th South and Broadway. A 2020 Hyundai Tucson driven by Katherine Lynn Botten, Hanska, was exiting the Hy-Vee parking lot, facing east at a stop sign. A 1990 Peterbilt semi driven by Robert Lee Hamsmith, 51, Ringsted, Iowa was southbound on Broadway with the right of way. Botten pulled out in front of the truck and tried to turn left, going southbound when the vehicles collided. Damage was severe/disabling to the Hyundai and moderate to the semi. A possible minor injury was reported. Both drivers wore seat belts.
