4 to be Inducted into New Ulm Bowling Association’s HOF

NEW ULM — Four bowlers with a combined 220 years of experience in the game will be inducted into the New Ulm Bowling Hall of Fame on Saturday evening, March 30th at the New Ulm Country Club.

The 2019 inductees for the New Ulm Women’s Bowling Association are Edna Roegiers and Susie Anderson. The Men’s Bowling Association is bestowing this year’s Hall of Fame honors to Terry Anderson and Claus Zimdahl.

Edna Roegiers

Edna Roegiers has been involved in bowling for over 70 years. She’s earned a career high game of 223 and high series of 543. She’s participated in city and state tournaments nearly every year of her career. Roegiers captured second place in singles in the city tournament just three years ago. She currently bowls in two leagues — Thursday Happy Hour and Friday Primetimers.

Susie Anderson

Susie Anderson has been for nearly 50 years. Her bowling career started while living in Wisconsin and has continued in New Ulm since moving here in college. Her high game recorded is a 244 with high series of 604.

Anderson currently averages 175, which ranks her in the top 5 women bowlers currently in New Ulm.

Anderson bowls in two leagues and participates regularly in city, state and national tournaments. Anderson placed first in the Women’s State Seniors tournament in 2015 and went on to place 13th in the Seniors National tournament that year.

Terry Anderson

Terry Anderson had a bowling career of over 40 years where he regularly maintained an average of 200-plus. His high game is a 299 and high series is 777. He participated in two leagues, the Sioux and All Star League.

He also participated in the City, State and area tournaments. In 1996, he earned the All Events championship in the city tournament. His career was filled with success but was cut short when health challenges forced an early retirement.

Claus Zimdahl

Claus Zimdahl has been an active bowler for over 60 years. He holds one of the longest active league bowling streaks in New Ulm bowling history. He participates in many state, state senior and local tournaments.

He has earned the doubles championship in the city tournament. Zimdahl has served as team captain and league president for over 30 years. He is still an active, competitive bowling and one of the greatest ambassador’s for New Ulm bowling.
