Silent Book Group at Library

NEW ULM — New Ulm Public Library’s Silent Book Group will meet Saturday, June 10 from 10-11:30 a.m. Participants read whatever they want, and the group will break at 11:15 to socialize. Call 507-359-8332 for more information.

Fort Ridgely Historic Site re-enactment

FORT RIDGELY — Fort Ridgely Historic Site and Nicollet County Historical Society are hosting “Company B Reenactment Weekend” at Fort Ridgely Historic Site near Fairfax.

The event will include Companies B & C, 5th Minnesota Infantry. Camp cooking will be demonstrated by Lynn Erhke and laundry demonstrations by Vickie Wendel and Soldiers Aid Society. Also appearing are the 2nd Minnesota Light Artillery and 1st US Artillery, Battery I.

The event runs Saturday and Sunday and admission is required, $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and students and under 5 are free. No state park sticker is required on Saturday, but will be required for Sunday. The hours of the event are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. both days.

Grand Center for Arts fundraiser

NEW ULM — The Grand Center for Arts & Culture will be hosting a summer kick-off fundraiser on Saturday, June 17 from 4:30 p.m.to midnight. All funds raised from this event will be matched 2 to 1 by an anonymous donor. Join The Grand as it brings the theme of Paris to life with fine food from Lola @ The Grand, and music from The Minnesota Barking Ducks and Parisian Swing duo Reynold Phillpsek & Matt Senjam.

Tickets are $85 and are available at The Grand, The Chamber or by calling The Grand at 359-9222. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
