Robles signs with Twins
MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Twins announced on Tuesday that they have signed right-handed pitcher Hansel Robles to a one-year contract through the 2021 season.
Robles, 30, spent the 2020 season with the Los Angeles Angels, appearing in 18 games, striking out 20 batters and walking 10 in 16 2/3 innings pitched. In 2019, the six-year veteran posted a record of 5-1 with a 2.48 ERA and 23 saves in 27 opportunities over a career-high 71 games.
The Banao, Dominican Republic native was originally signed as an international free agent by the New York Mets in 2012 and has posted a career record of 24-18 with a 3.91 ERA, 27 saves, 134 walks, 360 strikeouts and a .230 opponent batting average in 313 games with the Mets and Angels.
