US to propose new rules for airline cancellations, delays

President Joe Biden said Monday his administration will write new regulations that will require airlines to compensate air travelers and cover their meals and hotel rooms if they are stranded for reasons within the airline’s control. The compensation would be in addition to ticket refunds when the airline is at fault for a flight being canceled or significantly delayed. US backs study of safe injection sites, overdose prevention (AP) — For the first time, the U.S. government will pay for a large study measuring whether overdoses can be prevented by so-called safe injection sites, places where people can use heroin and other illegal drugs and be revived if they take too much. The grant provides more than $5 million over four years to New York University and Brown University to study two sites in New York City and one opening next year in Providence, Rhode Island. Dust builds up in dryer interior

Dear Heloise: My Whirlpool dryer belt recently broke. Since it’s old and older appliances tend to last longer than newer models, I decided to have it fixed. I did some research and discovered it’s very easy to open it up and get to the guts of the dryer. Unbelievably, there was a lot of lint and dust built up inside!
