NUHS Knowledge Bowl advances two teams to state

NEW ULM — NUHS’s Knowledge Bowl teams had a strong showing in the Region 9AAA Tournament on Tuesday, March 17, in Mankato.
Thirty-three teams from New Ulm, Mankato East, Mankato West, Owatonna, Fairmont, St. Peter, TCU, and Jordan competed for a chance to advance to the State Tournament in April.
Only the top two teams advance from the Region to the state tournament. New Ulm High School took 1st, 2nd, and 4th places.
NU Ivory placed 1st, and NU Purple took 2nd, both advancing to the state tournament.
New Ulm Maroon took 4th place, barely being edged out for third by Saint Peter. The State Knowledge Bowl Tournament will be held at Cragun’s Resort in Brainerd on April 9 and 10.

This is New Ulm High School’s 12th trip to the state tournament and the fourth time it has sent two teams in one year.
