NEW ULM — New Ulm firefighters responded to a report of smoke coming from a third-floor apartment window near the corner of 3rd Street North and Minnesota Street at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Assistant Fire Chief Aaron Wilfahrt said radiator steam froze up in an apartment, creating smoke. He said firefighters shut off a steam valve to stop the smoke.
Wilfahrt said three fire trucks including two pumpers and a ladder truck responded to the call. No injuries or damage was reported.
Firefighters spent about 20 minutes at the scene.
