Okerman helped lead her Sleepy Eye Indians girls basketball team to back-to-back wins this past Friday and Saturday as the Indians defeated Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther on Friday and Nicollet on Saturday. Okerman had 12 points and five steals Friday and 11 points and nine steals Saturday.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: I’d say sweet potatoes, honestly. Or pineapple, I can eat a whole pineapple in one sitting [laughs].

Q: What is a your favorite band/musical artist?

A: I’d say Noah Kahan or Brandon Lake. Those are two of my biggest artists I listen to.

Q: What is your favorite movie?

A: Titanic. It’s a classic, so good, it’s got all the elements in it.

Q: Who is your favorite basketball player?

A: Paige Bueckers [UConn] for sure. She’s a pass-first player, she looks to get her teammates open and that’s something I try to model my game off of. She can score, too, she’s a bucket.

Q: What is your favorite video game/board game?

A: I play Fortnite. I’m a video-gamer for sure.
