Arrest made in Olmsted County homicide

ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) — Olmsted County sheriff’s officials say they’ve made an arrest in the death of a man found with multiple gunshot wounds along a rural road earlier this year.

The body of 28-year-old Garad Hassan Roble was found by a passing motorist before dawn on March 5. Sheriff Kevin Torgenson said Friday the 23-year-old Rochester man was arrested on a charge of aiding an offender for second-degree murder. He could make a court appearance Friday.

Torgenson says the man is being held at the Goodhue County Adult Detention Center because of “conflicting relationships” with detainees in Olmsted County.

Nurses authorize strike at Twin Cities

Children’s hospitals

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Nurses have voted to authorize a strike against Children’s Minnesota and its hospitals in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

The Minnesota Nurses Association says union nurses voted overwhelmingly Thursday to reject Children’s latest offer and authorize their negotiating team to call a strike.

The Star Tribune reports no walkouts are scheduled. The two sides are set to return to bargaining Friday.

Negotiator Elaina Hane, a pediatric intensive care nurse at Children’s St. Paul, says nurses feel “devalued and disrespected,” and “are prepared to do what it takes to get a fair contact.”

Health insurance is a key issue for the nurses. A Children’s official says the strike authorization vote “doesn’t make sense” and is unnecessary, since the two sides have made progress in bargaining.

Talks have gone on since March.

Klobuchar supports Trump impeachment process ‘beginning now’

NEW YORK (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Amy Klobuchar says she would support impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump “beginning now.”

The Minnesota senator’s comment to CNN Friday followed Trump’s statement this week that he’d take information from a foreign power that offered dirt on an opponent.

Klobuchar says “it’s illegal” to take something of value from a foreign country to use in a campaign. She says Trump is “sending out signals” like he did in 2016, when he publicly urged Russia to find and publish Hillary Clinton’s emails.

Trump told Fox News on Friday that “of course” he’d go to the FBI or attorney general if offered dirt on an opponent.

Klobuchar says if the House prefers to conduct investigations before starting impeachment proceedings “they should be given the time to do that.”
