Police recover puppy stolen

from car in Chaska

CHASKA, Minn. (AP) — Police have recovered an 11-week-old puppy stolen from a car in Chaska.

The Chaska Police Department said in a Facebook post on Sunday that the dog named Goldy has been recovered.

Police say a suspect has been identified, and the investigation is still active.

A woman was suspected of stealing the puppy from a car parked outside a Goodwill store in Chaska on Friday afternoon.

Goldy’s owner described the dog as a mini Labradoodle. The Star Tribune reports the family was offering a $500 reward for the puppy’s safe return.

Motorcyclist killed in crash

with deer in northern Minnesota

CHISHOLM, Minn. (AP) — A motorcyclist was killed when he struck a deer head-on in northern Minnesota.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened late Saturday on Highway 169 near Chisholm in St. Louis County.

The crash threw 20-year-old Devin James Eskeli of Hibbing from his motorcycle. He died at the scene.

The patrol says he was not wearing a helmet.

Driver admits downing 10 tequila

shots before fatal crash

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Minnesota man has pleaded guilty to killing two teenagers as he drove the wrong way down a highway last year.

Twenty-seven-year-old Quoc Tran, of Osseo, entered his plea last week in Hennepin County court to two counts of criminal vehicular homicide. A jury trial had been scheduled to start Monday.

The Star Tribune reports Tran admitted that he had been to two downtown Minneapolis bars and drank 10 shots of tequila in about 90 minutes. Tran then entered Interstate 94 on a downtown exit ramp.
