Boseman plans ’17 Bridges’ as ‘Black Panther’ follow-up

NEW YORK (AP) — Chadwick Boseman will step out of Wakanda for the New York police drama “17 Bridges.”

STX Entertainment announced Wednesday that Boseman will star as a disgraced NYPD detective thrust into a citywide manhunt for a cop killer. The film will be Boseman’s first non-Marvel movie following the $1.3 billion box-office success of “Black Panther.” He also appeared in “Avengers: Infinity War” and has shot its follow-up.

“17 Bridges” will reteam Boseman with “Infinity War” directors Joe and Anthony Russo. The Russos will produce the film, to be directed by Brian Kirk from a script by Adam Mervis.

The film will begin shooting in September.

The 40-year-old Bosesman has also starred in “42,” ”Get on Up” and “Marshall.”

Shannade Clermont from ‘Bad Girls Club’ charged in theft

NEW YORK (AP) — A former cast member of the television reality series “Bad Girls Club” was arrested on charges alleging she stole debit card information from a man who died shortly after a date with her.

Shannade Clermont was arrested Wednesday on charges including wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.

Prosecutors said the man she visited in January 2017 was found dead of a drug overdose the next morning in his midtown Manhattan apartment.

Her lawyer did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

Authorities said the 24-year-old Clermont used stolen debit card information to try to obtain over $20,000. They say she used the money to pay her rent and phone bills, buy plane tickets and make online purchases of clothing and other merchandise.

Prosecutors said that text messages between the victim’s phone and Clermont’s phone before the date show that they agreed the encounter would cost $400.

They also revealed that she created an “Exotic Doll” email account on July 9, 2013, that they say Clermont “used to solicit dates for prostitution and other sexual encounters through various websites.”

The criminal complaint said she appeared on the Oxygen network’s reality series “Bad Girls Club” in 2015 along with her twin sister and amassed a large social media following. Her Twitter account listed over 100,000 followers.
