MVL/NUC girls take 2nd at SCC Indoor Championships
MANKATO — The Minnesota Valley Lutheran/New Ulm Cathedral girls track and field team took second at the South Central Conference Indoor Championships on Tuesday at Myers Field House.
St. Clair/Immanuel Lutheran took first for the girls with a 121, followed by MVL/NUC (86.33), Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial/Nicollet (78.5), Sibley East (62), Le Sueur-Henderson/MNCS (61.5) and Maple River (52.66).
The boys meet was won by Maple River (131), while LCWM/Nicollet took second (102.5), Sibley East took third (76.5), St. Clair/Immanuel Lutheran took fourth (68), MVL/NUC took fifth (54) and LSH/MNCS took sixth (28).
Leading the MVL/NUC girls was Emily Brown, who took first in the girls 55 (7.8) and first in the 55-meter hurdles 33″ (9.43), while Elizabeth Fischer took third in the 1,000 (3:46.25), Kamryn Davey took first in the 55-meter hurdles 30″ (9.41). Jenna Bates took first in the shot put also for MVL/NUC with a top throw of 32 feet, 8.5 inches, while Emmalie Fluegge took second in the high jump (4-10), Davey took third in the long jump (15-01) and first in the triple jump (33-08). Raegan Tiegs took third in the triple jump (31-05.5).
The LCWM/Nicollet girls were led by Avery Sargent, who took second in the 200 (29.72), while Jaci Jordan took second in the 800 (2:36.95), Evie Jones took second in the 1,000 (3:35.66), Jordan took third in the 1,600 (5:59.66) and Lauren Smit took third in the 55 hurdles 33″ (9.83) and second in the 55 hurdles 30″ (9.57). Also for the LCWM/Nicollet girls, Willow Casey took second in the shot put (31-11.5), while Matilda Carleton took third in the shot put (30-0) and Sargent took second in the long jump (15-05.75).
The Sibley East girls were led by Ella Doehling, who took first in the 1,000 (3:32.32), while Emma Eccles took first in the long jump (16-02).
For the MVL/NUC boys, Levi Johnson took third in the 55 (6.99), while Jeremy Feistner took second in the 1,000 (2:57.32) and third in the 1,600 (4:52.85) and Tucker Kohls took third in the 55 hurdles 36″ (8.74).
The LCWM/Nicollet boys saw Riddick Schubbe take third in the 200 (24.63), while Charlie Gengler took second in the 800 (2:13.79) and Aidan Moeller took third in the 800 (2:24.26). Also for the LCWM/Nicollet boys, Moeller took first in the 55 hurdles 39″ (8.28), while the 4×400 relay team of Henry Oscarson, Bo Maas, Talan Osborne and Gengler took first (3:51.58). Mason Adams took second in the shot put (42-00.5) for LCWM/Nicollet, while Levi Freyberg took second in the pole vault (12-06), Jacob Miller took third in the pole vault (11-06), Schubbe took third in the long jump (19-08.25) and Braxton Dudgeon took third in the triple jump (40-03.5).
For the Sibley East boys, Julio Alejandro took first in the 1,000 (2:48.75), while Gage Horstman took second in the 1,600 (4:51.35), Aidan McCue took second in the 55 hurdles 39″ (8.28) and the 4×800 relay team of Alejandro, Aiden Christeson, Gage Horstman and Mausten Krueger took first (9:06.42). McCue also took first both the long jump (20-00.25) and triple jump (42-10.5).
