MLC baseball swept by BLC in weekend series

MANKATO — Martin Luther College opened the conference basketball season with a trio of losses to Bethany Lutheran College, loosing 13-1 in six innings and 10-2 on Saturday and 11-3 on Sunday.

GAME 1

Connor Heckendorf took the loss for MLC in Game 1, striking out three while allowing eight runs, six earned, on eight hits in five innings pitched. At the plate, Carlos Walta had two hits, while Parker Winghart scored the team’s only run.

GAME 2

Aidan Berg took the loss for the Knights in the second Saturday game, striking out six while allowing two runs on seven hits in five innings of work. At the plate, Nathan Vance had a hit and two RBIs for MLC, while Winghart, Jackson Anderson and Mark Vogel each added a hit.

GAME 3

In the final series game on Sunday, Owen Proctor took the loss in three innings on the mound striking out three and allowing six runs on three hits and five walks. At the plate, William Salgat was 3 for 4 with two RBIs, while Walta had two hits and an RBI. Michael Krebs added two hits for MLC.

MLC (5-14, 0-3) has its first home game on Friday against Crown College at 3 p.m.
