MONTEVIDEO –The New Ulm Cathedral Sonics dance team wrapped up its season on Saturday, Feb. 7, competing in the Section 3A dance competition held in Montevideo.

The Sonics earned sixth-place in the Jazz division and followed with a fifth-place finish in High Kick, closing the day with momentum.

Coaches praised the athletes for their dedication and growth throughout the season. From early practices to the final routine on the section floor, the dancers continued to build confidence, sharpen technique, and support one another as a team.

The coaches, Karlie Gieseke, Kelcey Andrews and Elizabeth Sazma, issued a joint statement about the team.

“This group has worked incredibly hard all year,” the coaches shared. “Their commitment to improving every day and the way they represent our school and community is something to celebrate.”

For seniors and returning dancers alike, sections marked both the culmination of months of preparation and a chance to reflect on friendships and memories made along the way.

With another competitive season complete, the Sonics leave Montevideo proud of their accomplishments and excited for what the future holds.
