New Ulm 90, Redwood Valley 43

REDWOOD FALLS — New Ulm cruised by Redwood Valley 90-43 in a Big South Conference girls basketball game on Monday.

Brooklyn Lewis led the Eagles with 32 points, eight rebounds, five assists and 10 steals, while Riley Wilson had 16 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Leah Brustad had 15 points, seven steals and four rebounds, while Maggie Joyce had 10 points and two rebounds.

New Ulm (14-5) hosts Marshall on Thursday.

Cedar Mountain 80, HLO/F 61

OKABENA — Cedar Mountain rolled Heron Lake-Okebena/Fulda 80-61 in a nonconference girls basketball game on Monday.

Aubrey Steffl had a triple-double for the Cougars with 23 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists.

Grace Hamre had 18 points and three steals also for the Cougars, while Kendra Erickson had 13 points, five rebounds and four assists and Kendra Lueck added 11 points, four rebounds and five steals.

Cedar Mountain (16-2) hosts Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Tuesday.

ST. JAMES — St. James topped Sleepy Eye 82-52 in a nonconference girls basketball game on Monday.

Jace Schauman led the Indians with 17 points, while Taylor Berkner had 12 points .Jaelynn Schauman and Alexis Hoffman each added 8 points.

Sleepy Eye (12-10) hosts Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Thursday.

Madelia 68,

MADELIA — Madelia downed Sleepy Eye 68-61 in a nonconference boys basketball game on Monday.

Caden McMullen led the Blackhawks with 22 points and 20 rebounds, while Dalton Tatro had 19 points and 10 rebounds. Bryce Borkenhagen added 11 points, seven assists and five rebounds, and Tate Becker had 7 points and 11 rebounds.

Brayden Heiderscheidt led the Indians with 21 points, four rebounds and five assists, while Eric Lozano had 13 points and three assists.

Madelia (14-3) plays at Martin County West on Thursday, while Sleepy Eye (11-8) plays at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Friday.

GFW 64, Sibley East 47

WINTHROP — Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop topped Sibley East 64-47 in a nonconference boys basketball game on Monday.

Cole Jacobson led the Firebirds with 22 points, while Matthew Lee had 12 points and Kaden Rieke had 10 points.

Ezra Weber had 14 points for Sibley East, while Will Feterl had 12 points.

GFW (12-7) plays at Cedar Mountain on Thursday, while Sibley East (5-13) hosts Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Friday.

Wabasso 91, LQPV 55

MADISON — Wabasso rolled Lac qui Parle Valley 91-55 in a nonconference boys basketball game on Monday.

Brayden Guetter led the Rabbits with 31 points and four rebounds, while Caden Frericks had 17 points and 15 rebounds. Drew Kemp added 11 points and five assists.

Wabasso (18-2) hosts Yellow Medicine East on Monday.

MAYER — Mayer Lutheran edged New Ulm Cathedral 63-62 in a nonconference boys basketball game on Monday.

Eli Anderson led the Greyhounds with 30 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals, while Quinten Forst had 19 points, 10 rebounds and three assists.

Cathedral (6-13) plays at Cedar Mountain on Friday.

ALBERT LEA — Albert Lea downed New Ulm 4-0 in a nonconference boys hockey game on Monday.

New Ulm goalie Blaine Arneson had 25 saves.

BLUE EARTH — Blue Earth Area defeated New Ulm 139.55-133.375 in a Big South Conference prep gymnastics meet on Monday.

Sophia Berger led New Ulm with a fourth-place all around finish (33.15), placing second on beam (8.95) and tying for third on the floor (9.1). Avarey Sellner placed fifth all around (26.225), tying for third on the floor (9.1) while taking fourth on the vault (8.6) and beam (8.575), while Matilda Klawitter took sixth all around (25.025). Aubrey Romsdahl placed seventh all around (24.9), placing fifth on bars (7.45), beam (8.5) and the floor (8.95). Karli Schwab placed fifth on vault (8.5).
