NORTHRUP — New Ulm Cathedral’s Eli Anderson scored a career-high 47 points with nine 3-pointers in a 71-56 win over Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther on Thursday in a nonconference boys basketball game.

Anderson added 10 rebounds and four assists with three steals, while Quinten Forst had 8 points and 10 rebounds.

Cathedral (6-9, 4-6) plays at BOLD on Monday.

Sleepy Eye 66

WABASSO — Wabasso downed Sleepy Eye 94-66 in a Tomahawk Division boys basketball game on Thursday.

Caden Frericks led the Rabbits with 28 points and 17 rebounds with three steals, while Drew Kemp had 23 points and six rebounds. Brayden Guetter had 19 points and 10 rebounds with four assists, and Brooks Baune had 10 points and five assists with three steals.

Eric Lozan had 19 points, seven rebounds and three steals for the Indians, while Brayden Heiderscheidt had 16 points and four steals. Braylon Nelson added 10 points and four rebounds.

Wabasso (15-1, 10-1) hosts Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Tuesday, while Sleepy Eye (9-7, 4-7) hosts Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Tuesday.

MORGAN — Madelia edged by Cedar Mountain 68-63 in a nonconference boys basketball game on Thursday.

Dalton Tatro led the Blackhawks with 28 points, seven rebounds and three assists, while Leilynd Hundley had 17 points on five 3s. Tate Becker had 10 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, while Bryce Borkenhagen had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Thomas Dahmes led the Cougars with 20 points and nine rebounds, while Carson Schiller had 19 points and 14 rebounds. Blake Koerner had 18 points and four rebounds.

Madelia (11-2) plays at Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther on Monday, while Cedar Mountain (1-11) plays at Springfield on Monday.

SPRINGFIELD — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s defeated Springfield 71-26 in a Tomahawk Division girls basketball game on Thursday.

Morgan Mathiowetz led the Knights with 37 points, four rebounds and five steals, while Olivia Schieffert had 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Olivia Milbrath had 11 points for the Tigers, while Makay Winkelmann had 9 points.

St. Mary’s (16-0, 12-0) plays at Sibley East on Monday, while Springfield (7-9, 6-5) plays at Cedar Mountain on Tuesday.

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye downed Wabasso 62-51 in a Tomahawk Division girls basketball game on Thursday.

Jace Schauman had 30 points, 11 rebounds and six steals for Sleepy Eye, while Taylor Berkner had 23 points, three rebounds and three assists.

Kenley Guetter led the Rabbits with 16 points and 18 rebounds, while Ava Samyn had 16 points and six rebounds.

Sleepy Eye (11-8, 7-5) hosts Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Thursday, while Wabasso (6-14, 4-8) hosts Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Tuesday.

New Ulm goes 3-0 at Worthington quad

ST. PETER — New Ulm swept a prep wrestling quadrangular at Worthington on Thursday, defeating St. Peter 40-22, Worthington 59-4 and Marshall 42-23.

Chase Wilson (107), Regan Johnson (114), Kane Johnson (133/139), Elijah Rieser (145), and Lane Ruch (189/215) all went 3-0 on the day. Kane Johnson won by technical fall and had a pin, while Ruch had two pins and Rieser had another pin.
