New Ulm 8, LDC 4

NEW ULM — New Ulm topped Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato 8-4 for its sixth consecutive win in a nonconference boys hockey game on Tuesday.

Hunter Larson and Carson Uecker both had hat tricks for New Ulm in the game, while Larson added two assists. Bobby Rewitzer and Jaxon Saenz each had a goal and two assists, while Melvin Sellner and Trevan Thordson each had an assist. New Ulm goaltender Blaine Arneson had 26 saves.

New Ulm (11-6) plays at Fairmont on Thursday.

NEW ULM — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s topped New Ulm Cathedral 68-49 in a Tomahawk Division boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Adam Steffensmeier led the Knights with 23 points, four assists and three blocks, while Brecken Hulke had 10 points and five rebounds. Michael Balko added 9 points and eight rebounds.

Eli Anderson led the Greyhounds with 28 points and three steals, while Quinten Forst had 8 points and seven rebounds. Logan Goblirsch added 11 rebounds.

St. Mary’s (9-4, 6-2) hosts Springfield on Thursday, while Cathedral (5-9, 4-6) plays Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther in Northrop on Tuesday.

MVL 73, St. Clair 44

ST. CLAIR — Minnesota Valley Lutheran crusided by St. Clair 73-44 in a South Central Conference boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Pierson Brau led the Chargers with 22 points, nine rebounds and four blocks, while Luke Merseth had 14 points and six rebounds. Owen Birkholz added 12 points and five assists.

MVL (10-5, 2-1) hosts Le Sueur-Henderson on Friday.

GFW 96,

Cedar Mountain 62

WINTHROP — Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop scored its season high with a 96-62 win over Cedar Mountain Tuesday in a Tomahawk Division boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Cole Jacobson had a triple-double for the Firebirds with 27 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds, while Matthew Lee had 22 points. Kaden Rieke had 14 points, and Eric Herrera added 13 points.

Carson Schiller led the Cougars with 17 points and seven rebounds, while Blake Koerner had 15 points and five assists. Thomas Dahmes added 12 points and four rebounds.

GFW (7-6, 4-2) plays at Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Thursday, while Cedar Mountain (1-10, 1-7) hosts Madelia on Thursday.

NICOLLET — Nicollet defeated Cleveland 88-63 in a Valley Division boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Henry Oscarson led the Raiders with 20 points, while Carson Kettner had 18 points and 13 rebounds. Abe Madson had 16 points, Henry Kennedy had 15 points, and Keegan Hulke added 12 points.

Nicollet (11-3, 7-1) hosts Martin County West on Thursday.

MANKATO — Madelia topped Mankato Loyola 64-54 in a Valley Division boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Dalton Tatro led the Blackhawks with 32 points, five rebounds and two steals, while Bryce Borkenhagen had 16 points, four rebounds and four steals. Caden McMullen added 7 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.

LESTER PRAIRIE — Lester Prairie downed Sleepy Eye 61-44 in a Tomahawk Division boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Braylon Nelson led the Indians with 13 points and four rebounds, while Brayden Heiderscheidt had 10 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Chase Zufall added 10 points and three rebounds.

Sleepy Eye (9-6, 4-6) plays at Wabasso on Friday.

MORGAN — Cedar Mountain rolled Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 77-31 in a Tomahawk Division girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Aubrey Steffl led the Cougars with 21 points, six rebounds, 11 assists and six steals, while Grace Hamre had 19 points and three steals. Kendra Erickson had 18 points, nine rebounds and three steals, while Kendra Lueck had 10 points, four assists and five steals.

No statistics were reported for GFW.

Cedar Mountain (12-2, 7-1) plays at Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Friday, while GFW (2-12, 1-8) plays at BLHS on Thursday.

WABASSO — Springfield topped Wabasso 59-50 in a Tomahawk Division girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Jada Reese and Olivia Milbrath both had 15 points for the Tigers, while Makay Winkelmann and Kendall Krueger each had 10 points.

Kenley Guetter led the Rabbits with 18 points and 18 rebounds and five blocks, while Ava Samyn had 14 points and six rebounds.

Cheyenne Klockziem led the Raiders with 19 points and five rebounds, while Jazmyn Goettlicher had 18 points, four rebounds and five assists. Zoie Rengstorf added 13 points, while Megan Soost had 4 points and 14 rebounds.

WORTHINGTON — Worthington defeated New Ulm 138.85-128.525 in a Big South Conference gymnastics meet on Tuesday.

Sophia Berger led the Eagles in all-around score, placing fourth with a 32.575. Berger placed fifth on beam (8.225) and fifth on the floor (8.75). Avarey Sellner finished fifth all-round (24.45), taking sixth on the floor (8.5). Aubrey Romsdahl placed second on bars (8.35) and Karli Schwab tied for fourth on vault (8.85). Matilda Klawitter took sixth in vault (8.625).
