HOPKINS — New Ulm Area’s Ellie Dake took home first place at 170 at the Hopkins Athena Invitational on Saturday.

Dake pinned Forest Lake’s Savana Stans in 36 seconds before winning by fall over Hastings’ Lily Watts in 1 minute. In the championship match, Dake won by fall over Robbinsdale Armstrong’s Julia Brincks in 2:46.

Also from New Ulm, Sophia Blekestad defeated Valerie Pierce by fall in 2:28 to take third in the 124 C-2 bracket, while Karli Horner placed ninth in the 130 B bracket, and Brittany Perez Velezquez placed 12th in the 124-2 C bracket.
