Cathedral Sonics shine in season opener

The New Ulm Cathedral Sonics kicked off their competition season with a strong showing at their first event of the year on Saturday, Dec. 13. The competition, hosted by St. James.

The Sonics delivered impressive performances, proudly taking home 2nd place in Varsity Kick and 2nd place in Varsity Jazz, while the JV Jazz team earned a third-place finish. It was an exciting and successful start to the season for the Cathedral program.

The Sonics now set their sights on their home competition at Cathedral High School on Thursday, Dec. 18. Competition will begin at 5:50 p.m., with ticket sales starting at 5:15 p.m. Spectators should enter through the 6th N Street entrance. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students. Seating for this event will be double-sided.

Teams competing will be divided as follows:

Side A: New Ulm Cathedral, St. James, Maccray-RCW

Side B: Fairmont, TCU, New Ulm Public

Community members are encouraged to come out, support the Sonics, and enjoy an exciting evening of dance competition.
