SLEEPY EYE — Wabasso crossed the century mark for a 101-71 win over Sleepy Eye in a Tomahawk Division boys basketball game on Friday.
Brayden Guetter led the Rabbits with 29 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists, while Caden Frericks had 21 points and 16 rebounds. Drew Kemp added 18 points and five rebounds, while Jack Burns had 11 points and four assists.
Braylon Nelson led the Indians with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Brayden Heiderscheidt had 12 points, six assists and four rebounds.
Wabasso (4-0, 2-0) plays at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Tuesday, while Sleepy Eye (2-1, 1-1) plays at Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Tuesday.

ST. PETER — New Ulm fell to the Big South Conference-leading St. Peter 78-69 on Friday night in a Big South Conference boys basketball game.
Owen Castelman paced the Eagles in defeat with 18 points, while Mitchell Hopp had 16 points and Levi Hopp had 14 points. Marquise Poncelet and Tanner Backer each chipped in 6 points for New Ulm.
New Ulm (1-2, 1-2) hosts Belle Plaine on Tuesday night.

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield rolled Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s 84-59 in a Tomahawk Division boys basketball game on Friday.
Brecken Heiling led the Tigers with 20 points, while Parker Kuehn had 15 points and three steals. Isaac Fredin added 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Madden Lendt had 10 points, 10 rebounds and three assists.
No statistics were reported for St. Mary’s.
Springfield (1-2, 1-1) plays at Cedar Mountain on Tuesday, while St. Mary’s (3-1, 1-1) hosts Wabasso on Tuesday.

WINTHROP — Behind a double-double from Cole Jacobson, the Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Firebirds topped Lester Prairie 67-61 on Friday night in a Tomahawk Division boys basketball game.
Jacobson had 21 points and 15 rebounds in the win, while the Firebirds had three others in double figures on the night. Kaden Rieke had 12 points, while Matthew Lee and Eric Herrera each had 11 points. Owen Swenson came close to double figures for GFW with 9 points.
GFW (2-1, 1-0) hosts BOLD on Monday night.

MORGAN — Cedar Mountain downed Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart 74-57 in a Tomahawk Division boys basketball game on Friday.
Thomas Dahmes had 22 points and 12 rebounds for the Cougars, while Carson Schiller had 22 points and 10 rebounds. Jackson Guetter added 13 points, seven assists and five steals.

WATERTOWN — Watertown-Mayer downed Sibley East 73-58 in a nonconference boys basketball game on Thursday.
Will Feterl led the Wolverines with 24 points and six rebounds, while Riley Bussler had 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Samuel Renneke added 10 points for Sibley East.
Sibley East (2-3) hosts St. Clair on Thursday.

HECTOR — Aubrey Steffl posted a 33-point triple-double to lead Cedar Mountain over Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Friday.
Steffl added 11 assists, 11 steals and seven rebounds, while Kendra Erickson had 14 points, 11 rebounds and three steals. Kedra Lueck had 9 points, five rebounds and five steals.

Taylor Berkner led the Indians with 20 points, while Jaelynn Schauman and Jace Schauman each had 13 points for Sleepy Eye.
Ava Samyn led the Rabbits with 11 points and four rebounds, whiele Cassie Bliss had 10 points and four steals. Kenley Guetter addd 7 points and 12 rebounds.
Sleepy Eye (4-3, 1-2) travels to Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Tuesday, while Wabasso (1-5, 1-1) plays at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Tuesday.

Morgan Mathiowetz led the Knights with 28 points, seven assists and four steals, while Olivia Schieffert had 19 points and 10 rebounds. Kylie3 Pelzel had 9 points, and Natalie Fischer had 8 points and four rebounds.
Olivia Milbrath paced the Tigers with 10 points and seven rebounds, while Makay Minkelmann had 7 points and Kendall Krueger had 6 points.
St. Mary’s (7-0, 3-0) hosts Wabasso on Tuesday, while Springfield (3-2, 2-1) hosts Cedar Mountain on Tuesday.

NICOLLET — With five players in double figures, Nicollet rolled to a 67-33 win over Cleveland on Friday in a Valley Conference girls basketball game.
Zoei Rengstorf led the Raiders in the win with 17 points, while Jazmyn Goettlicher had 16 points and Chloe Kachelmeier had 11. Megan Soost and Cheyenne Klockziem each had 10 points.
Nicollet (5-3, 3-1) is at Martin County West on Monday.
BOYS HOCKEY
River Lakes 5, New Ulm 3
RICHMOND — The New Ulm Eagles fell to River Lakes 5-3 on Friday night in a nonconference boys hockey game.
Bobby Rewitzer, Brody Nordby and Mason Buegler each scored a goal for New Ulm, with Nordby and Buegler’s coming on the power play. Hunter Larson added two assists for New Ulm, while Nordby, Melvin Sellner and Carson Uecker each had a helper.
Eagles goalie Blaine Arenson stopped 14 shots. The Eagles outshot River Lakes 26-19 in the game.
New Ulm is at Fergus Falls on Saturday for 7 p.m. nonconference game.
