Knights race by BOLD in opener
SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s rolled to a 77-41 win over BOLD on Friday night in a girls basketball game during the Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Tip-Off.
Despite being face-guarded through much of the game and holding her to 11 points at the half, Morgan Mathiowetz finished with 26 points, 11 rebounds and five assists to lead the Knights to victory. Olivia Schieffert added 16 points, six rebounds and three assists, while Natalie Fischer had 14 points, three rebounds and three assists.
Also for the Knights, Sidney Tauer had 6 points, eight rebounds and two assists, while Audra Hoffmann had 6 points and nine rebounds, Kiara Murphy had 6 points and Brynne Ibberson had 3 points, four rebounds and three steals.
St. Mary’s (1-0) will take on Waterville-Elysian-Morristown at 1 p.m. Saturday as the Tip-Off continues.
