Tigers battle back, down MLA/C in 5

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield came back to take down Mountain Lake Area in five sets on Tuesday night, winning 25-15, 14-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15-7 in a nonconference volleyball match.
Kendall Krueger led the Tigers with 14 kills, 20 digs and three aces, while Delayna Johson had 13 kills, five blocks, four digs and an ace. Olivia Simonson had four kills, 14 digs, four aces and a block, and Sophia Mude had 36 set assists, 11 digs and six aces. Jada Reese added 15 digs for the Tigers, while Jalyn Louwagie had nine digs and two aces, Claire Potter had 11 digs and Gabby Schenk added four kills.
Springfield finishes the regular season with a 6-18 record and plays at second-seeded Cleveland as the No. 15 seed on Monday.
