Knights volleyball wins on Parents’ Night

NEW ULM — The Martin Luther College volleyball team defeated North Central 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-22) on Friday evening, as the parents of the volleyball team were celebrated.
MLC secured its second UMAC win of the season and got off to a fast start, scoring the first eight points of the match in the opening set of the contest. North Central cut into their early deficit, but the Knights maintained the lead and took the set by five points.
In the second set, the Knights never trailed despite the Rams sticking close on each point, but MLC forced 10 North Central errors to take command of the match.
MLC trailed 7-3 to begin the final set, but delivered 11 kills to take the match 3-0.
Karin Aguilar earned the start tonight and tied for the team lead in kills (8) along with fellow freshman Kiara Humann. Ella Walz led the Knights with 14 assists and powered three service aces for MLC. Meanwhile, Lydia Feidt recorded a team-best 13 digs and three blocks defensively as Anna Kieselhorst reached double-digits in digs (10).
Next up for MLC is a road match at Northwestern on Tuesday, October 14, at 7 p.m.
