Weekend area roundup: Cougars roll Jaguars

RENVILLE — Cedar Mountain cruised by Renville County West 51-16 in a Nine-Man South District, West Subdistrict football game Saturday.
Jackson Guetter led the Cougars with 99 yards on 15 carries with three touchdowns on the ground while adding 91 yards on two receptions and a touchdown through the air. Stan Heiling had 109 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries, while Thomas Dahmes had five receptions for 82 yards. Carson Schiller completed nine of 16 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown while running for 50 yards and a score on five rushes. Defensively, Heiling had 15 tackles and a pass defended, while Guetter had six tackles and a TFL. Dahmes had seven tackles, a TFL and an interception, and Casey Haala had four tackles and an interception. Logan Welch had four tackles, a TFL and a sack.
Cedar Mountain (3-3, 3-3) hosts Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Friday.

Cathedral goes 2-3
at Burnsville
BURNSVILLE — New Ulm Cathdral downed United Christian Academy 25-18, 25-15 and DeLaSalle 22-25, 25-14, 18-16 but fell to Jackson County Central 25-22, 25-18, Shakopee 29-17, 25-18 and Cannon Falls 25-15, 25-17 in a prep volleyball tournament on Saturday.
Shay Wilfahrt collected 57 kills, 20 digs, four blocks and five aces across the tournament, while Margo Finstad had 39 set assists, 31 digs and nine kills. Ava Krueger had 20 kills, 21 digs, seven aces and two blocks, and Abbey Hillesheim had 34 set assists, 20 digs and four aces.
Cedar Mountain finishes 4-1 at Jimmy
John’s Tournament
MARSHALL — Cedar Mountain defeated Yellow Medicine East, Redwood Valley, Westbrook-Walnut Grove and Renville County West but fell to Central Minnesota Christian in the Jimmy John’s Tournament on Saturday.
Kendra Erickson had 58 kills, 43 set assists, 42 kills, four blocks and four aces for the Cougars in the tournament, while Reagyn Kleinschmidt had 47 kills, 55 set assists and 15 digs. Aubrey Steffl had 41 kills and 15 digs.
