Blackhawks fall to Maple River in 5
MADELIA — The Madelia Blackhawks battled Maple River to five sets on Monday but ultimately fell short in the end as Maple River won 25-12, 19-25, 25-10, 12-25, 15-9 in a nonconference volleyball match.
Grace Tatro led Madelia with eight kills and 14 digs, while Makayla Sorenson had seven kills, 18 digs and three aces. Carissa Sorenson added six kills, six digs and five blocks also for the Blackhawks, while Alicia Lugo had 17 set assists and 15 digs, Lauryn Grev had 10 digs and three kills and Emmy Johnson added 10 digs.
Madelia (11-15) is at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Thursday.
