New Ulm splits at JCC
JACKSON — New Ulm fell 2-0 to Windom and 2-1 to Murray County Central but won 2-1 over Luverne and 2-1 over Estherville-Lincoln Central in a tournament at Jackson County Central over the weekend.
Izzy Longtin had two kills and two set assists against Windom, while Lauren Schmeising had five digs and five blocks. Against MCC, Brooklyn Lewis had eight kills, two aces and eight digs, and Lily Poehler had 16 set assists. Against Luverne, Poehler had seven kills, 12 set assists and 12 digs, while Longtin had 10 set assists and 12 digs. Against ELC, Brooklyn Lewis had six kills and 10 digs, while Poehler had 11 set assists and three aces and Gracie Baker had 20 digs.
New Ulm (4-11) plays at Maple Lake on Tuesday.
Rabbits go 4-1
at home tourney
WABASSO — Wabasso went 4-1 during a home tournament this past weekend, defeating Redwood Valley 25-11, 25-13, Southwest Minnesota Christian 25-11, 25-9, Central Minnesota Christian 25-15, 12-25, 15-9 an splitting with MACCRAY 23-15, 15-25 and 25-22, 20-25, 16-14.
Carly Fenger had 25 kills and six blocks across the tournament, while Camryn Irlbeck had 30 kills, 16 blocks and three aces. Leah Mathiowetz had 21 kills, 17 digs and three aces, and Kenley Guetter had 18 kills, 27 digs and three aces with nine blocks. Audrey Johnson had 40 digs and five aces, and Sara Carlson had 106 set assists.
Wabasso (7-4) travels to Sleepy Eye on Tuesday.
Cougars go 2-2 at TCU tourney, Erickson picks up 1,000th set assist
MONTGOMERY — Cedar Mountain went 2-2 at a prep volleyball tournament at Tri-City United this past weekend, defeting NRHEG by point differential and Lester Prairie 2-0 but falling 2-0 to TCU and Kenyon-Wanamingo.
Kendra Erickson earned her 1,000th career set assist during the tournament, putting up 24 across the four games, Erickson added 38 kills and 22 digs, while Aubrey Steffl had 21 kills 22 digs. Reagyn Kleinschmidt had 25 set assists and 22 kills, and Brynn Hoffbeck had 31 digs.
Cedar Mountain (7-3) travels to Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Tuesday.
