MVL boys, Springfield/Cedar Mountain girls win at Maple River Invite

MAPLETON — Minnesota Valley Lutheran’s Jeremy Feistner placed first at a prep cross-country meet at Daly Park on Thursday, running a time of 17:47.

Feistner helped lead the Chargers boys to a first-place finish as a team, with a score of 29. Waterville-Elysian-Morristown placed second (57), followed by Springfield/Cedar Mountain (64), Medford (112), Jackson County Central (120) and Blue Earth Area (135).

Also for the MVL boys, Titus Kohls placed fourth (18:38) and Solomon Stoering took eighth (19:39). Will Kerkow placed 11th (20:09), and Jamis Martens (20:52), Henry Manthe (20:54.40) and Aiden Weisensel (20:54.80) took 17th through 19th. Abraham Selvey placed 25th (21:20.50).

For the Springfield/Cedar Mountain boys, Dylan Dewitt placed sixth (18:53), while Preston Anderson took seventh (19:23). Matt Fernandez placed 13th (20:30), and Nathan Groebner placed 23rd (21:11).

On the girls’ side of the meet, Springfield Cedar Mountain placed first (38), followed by JCC (51), MVL (66), WEM (72) and Medford (142).

Natalie Matzke led the Chargers with a second-place finish (20:35). Faith Peters took fifth (22:57), and Grace Peters placed 15th (24:34).

For the Springfield/Cedar Mountain girls, Lydia Dauer placed fourth (22:48), while Farrah Dauer took sixth (23:08). Sylvia Hovland finished ninth (23:45), and Katie Thram placed 12th (24:14). Julianne McCone took 19th (25:42.08), followed by Abby Groebner in 20th (25:42.63) and Hazel Dauer in 23rd (26:13.20).
