MORGAN — Cedar Mountain topped Martin County West 25-20, 25-23, 23-25, 25-23 on Monday night in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference crossover volleyball match.

The Cougars were led by Reagyn Kleinschmidt’s 18 kills, while Kendra Erickson had 17 kills, Aubrey Steffl had 12 kills and 18 digs and Evy Heibel had five kills. Kleinschmidt also had 19 set assists and eight digs, while Erickson had 16 assists and 15 digs, Jaylyn Welter had 10 assists and Brynn Hoffbeck had 23 digs.

Cedar Mountain is at New Ulm Cathedral for a Tomahawk Division matchup at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

BLHS 3, Nicollet 0

NICOLLET — Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart defeated Nicollet in three sets of a Tomahawk-Valley Conference crossover volleyball match Monday, winning 25-23, 25-9, 25-11.

The Raiders were led by Madison Kettner, Payten Otto and Lydia Martens, who each had four kills, while Martens added 17 digs and five assists, Chloe Kachelmeier added 19 digs for Nicollet, while Kettner had nine digs and 10 assists.

No statistics were provided for BLHS by the time this edition of The Journal went to press.

Nicollet is at Madelia on Tuesday for a Valley Division matchup.

NLS 3, Wabasso 1

NEW LONDON — Wabasso fell to New London-Spicer on Monday in a nonconference volleyball match, losing 25-20, 25-21, 25-27, 25-20.

Wabasso was led by Camryn Irlbeck’s 14 kills and seven total blocks, while Carly Fenger had 12 kills and Kenley Guetter had 10 kills, 13 digs and four total blocks. Sara Carlson added 43 set assists, 15 digs and three blocks, while Audrey Johnson had 22 digs and Leah Mathiowetz had 13 digs.

Wabasso is at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s for a Tomahawk Division matchup on Tuesday night.

GIRLS TENNIS

Sibley East 5, New Ulm 2

Jordan 4, New Ulm 3

NEW ULM — New Ulm dropped two in a girls tennis home triangular on Monday, falling to Sibley East 5-2 and Jordan 4-3.

Getting wins for New Ulm against Sibley East were Carmen Schotzko and the team of Brielle Evans and Eleanor Grathwohl. Schotzko won at No. 1 singles over Tess McCracker 7-5, 6-2, while Evans and Grathwohl beat Aynslee Hellebust and Ximena Corona Perez 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3 doubles.

Schotzko also won against Jordan at No. 1 singles, defeating Naomi Salzwedel 1-6, 6-3, 10-7, while New Ulm’s Lilly Kral defeated Joslyn Debban 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. The Eagles got another win from Evans and Grathwohl at No. 3 doubles over Jordan’s duo of Sam Shaughnessy and Stella Ortiz, winning 5-7, 7-5, 10-8.
